About the Role
FTI Consultings Consumer Financial Services professionals have the talent and experience to partner with various financial institutions, fintechs, and law firms, to build or enhance proactive consumer compliance programs, as well as post-resolution activities including look-back remediation reviews. As an Associate, you will be required to work on client engagements under the supervision of senior team members. You will typically undertake tasks such as gathering, organizing and reviewing customer transaction data, compliance facts, financial data, performing calculations, undertaking research, and documenting your work.
You will benefit from on-the-job coaching from experienced members of the team, and will be supported in undertaking an appropriate regulatory compliance qualification. You will also need to develop a strong knowledge of the U.S. compliance process, especially with regards to litigation, fraud and compliance issues.
What Youll Do
- Analyze and interpret customer transaction histories and financial data. Under the direction of project leads, review and analyze customer transaction / compliance data.
- Document assumptions, methodology, and information sources.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations.
- Work closely with senior colleagues on client matters.
- Attend and participate in client meetings.

- Organize information to facilitate effective data access and analysis. Supervise more junior team members work product.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or master's degree in finance, Business, Law, or related field.
- At least 1-3 years experience in financial services consulting or compliance or financial investigations or litigation support.
- Experience working with US banks or International Clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relations with team and clients.
- Strong English communication and writing skills required.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Eagerness to learn and the motivation to succeed.
- Adaptability in a fast paced and dynamic working environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with senior team members and the client in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
- Strong work ethic, integrity and high level of professionalism.
- Take ownership and initiatives to improve the status quo; Escalate issues and problems, articulate clearly to leadership, onshore, and the client team.
- Attend early/late hours regional/global meetings as needed.
- Available to work evening and night shifts

Preferred Qualifications

Consulting experience working with financial services regulations and financial institutions.
- Professional experience working with consumer financial regulations within a financial institution or regulatory agency.
- Desire to work towards CRCM, CFE, or other relevant professional designation.
- Applicants should have a strong ability to research and interpret regulations, policies, and procedures from regulatory websites.
- Applicants should be comfortable managing fast-moving deadlines and change/ambiguity in projects.
- Experience with regulatory compliance related to regulations including but not limited to:
1. Mortgage related regulations (both mortgage originations and servicing) 2. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 3. Fair Lending, Truth In Lending Act(TILA), Electronic Fund 4.
