Summarized Purpose:

We are presenting an outstanding opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific as an Associate Project Manager Portfolio Management! In this role, you will work cross-functionally to deliver IT project solutions within defined scope, quality, time, and cost parameters. You will manage or coordinate one or more medium to large-scale IT projects or subprojects from initiation through successful delivery.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • 2-4 years of experience in managing projects and/or financials.
  • Project management certification.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities across multiple cross-functional IT teams, ensuring project dependencies are identified and communicated.
  • Develop and review detailed project plans, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), resource loading, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Plan and manage project budgets, track actuals, mitigate overspend, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Provide timely updates to management on risks, issues, budget status, and project timelines.
  • Analyze cross-project interdependencies to optimize scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and evaluate project-related issues and recommend solutions under moderate supervision.
  • Provide oversight and direction to project team members to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Build productive internal working relationships, with occasional external stakeholder interaction.
  • Apply company policies and procedures to resolve project-related challenges and make informed decisions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong understanding of project management principles (time, quality, cost).
  • Solid financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence across diverse teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and sound judgment in problem-solving.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Familiarity with formal change management processes.
  • Knowledge of quality frameworks such as Six Sigma, COBIT, or ITIL.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Must Have skills:

  • Experience in cross-functional project coordination and planning.
  • Budgeting and financial tracking capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and related tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with change management processes.

Good to have skills:

  • Understanding of Six Sigma, COBIT, ITIL, or equivalent systems.
  • Exposure to enterprise portfolio management tools.
  • Understanding of IT systems and technology project environments.

Working Hours:

India: 05:30 PM to 02:30 AM IST

Philippines: 08:00 PM to 05:00 AM PST
