Job Description

Role & responsibilities 1. Client Acquisition & Business Development Identify and approach prospective retail clients for digital marketing services. Build a pipeline through cold calling, networking, referrals, and inbound leads. Conduct client meetings and presentations to understand their business and pitch suitable solutions. Drive closure of deals and achieve monthly/quarterly revenue targets. 2. Solution-Based Sales Understand client requirements across domains (Social Media, GMB, OOH, Design, etc.). Suggest customized digital marketing packages tailored to retail client needs. Collaborate with internal teams to draft proposals, pricing, and campaign strategies. 3. Account Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. Maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Work with the execution team to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services. Handle escalations, feedback, and client renewals proactively. 4. Retail Sector-Focused Strategy Identify digital opportunities unique to retail categories (e.g., footfall increase, seasonal campaigns). Advise clients on trends, best practices, and competitor insights in retail marketing. Coordinate promotional activities around retail peaks (festive seasons, new store launches, sales). 5. Coordination with Internal Teams Work closely with the creative, content, media buying, and production teams to align deliverables with client expectations. Coordinate timelines, creative briefs, and campaign goals internally. Ensure the quality and relevance of creatives (posts, photos, videos, ads) for the retail segment. 6. Reporting & Analysis Track campaign performance, share insights and reports with clients regularly. Use tools like Google My Business Insights, Meta Business Suite, and CRM reports for performance tracking. Recommend data-driven improvements for ongoing/upcoming campaigns. 7. Market Intelligence & Learning Stay updated with new trends in digital marketing, social media platforms, and retail advertising. Study competitors and their digital approach in the retail domain. Suggest service enhancements or bundled offerings based on market feedback. Preferred candidate profile Education Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication, or related fields. MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or Digital Business (preferred but not mandatory). Experience 2 to 5 years of experience in sales/business development, preferably in a digital marketing agency or advertising firm. Proven track record of selling digital marketing services such as Social Media Marketing, Google My Business (GMB) optimization, Creative services (design, photography, videography), OOH campaigns, Digital consultancy Strong understanding of the retail industry and consumer-facing businesses. Industry Preference Digital Marketing Agencies Advertising & Creative Agencies OOH or Brand Activation Companies SAAS or Tech Solutions with Retail Clientele Retail marketing divisions (agency-facing experience preferred) Skills & Competencies Strong communication and client-facing skills Solution-selling and consultative approach Understanding of digital tools and platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, GMB, CRM systems) Proficiency in presentation and proposal creation Strong negotiation and closing abilities Analytical mindset with ability to read campaign data and make strategic recommendations Energetic, self-driven, and goal-oriented Other Attributes Fluency in English and regional language Willingness to travel locally for client meetings A team player who can work cross-functionally Strong follow-up and organizational skills
