Assistant Purchase Officer

As an Assistant Purchase Executive at Ganpat University, located in Kherva, Mahesana, you will play a crucial role in supporting procurement activities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining compliance with procurement policies. Your strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills will be essential in effectively supporting the university's purchasing operations. You will assist in the procurement process by ensuring the timely acquisition of articles and other required items to prevent delays. Additionally, you will support in generating and processing purchase orders based on approved requisitions, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Your role will also involve scrutinizing indents, calling for quotations, and inviting tenders as needed. Identifying potential suppliers/vendors, evaluating their capabilities, pricing, and quality of goods or services will be part of your responsibilities. You will also assist in preparing the purchase budget, vendor development, contract agreements, annual rate contracts, and other necessary procurement documents. Tracking expenses to ensure purchases stay within budgetary constraints and maintaining accurate records of purchases, contracts, invoices, and receipts for audit and reference purposes will be critical. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, addressing concerns, and conducting performance evaluations will also be part of your role. To succeed in this position, you must possess strong negotiation and analytical skills, a good understanding of procurement best practices and market trends, and the ability to work effectively with multiple vendors and suppliers. Excellent communication, stakeholder management skills, proficiency in procurement software, and record-keeping are essential. A background in B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical or any related field, along with 4-5 years of experience in procurement, is required.
