Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Operational (Individual Contributor Role):

  • Manage

    end-to-end procurement process

    from requirement gathering, RFQ, negotiation, and purchase order release to delivery and payment closure.
  • Handle

    key vendors and high-value purchases

    , ensuring quality, timelines, and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for

    delivery follow-ups

    , material tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Resolve

    invoice mismatches, payment holds, and GRN-related issues

    in coordination with finance.
  • Take ownership of

    critical shortages and urgent material requirements

    , ensuring timely availability through alternate sourcing or escalation handling.
  • Review and analyze

    daily and weekly purchase reports/metrics

    to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.

People & Process Leadership:

  • Lead a small

    team of purchase executives

    , providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Allocate workloads effectively and ensure adherence to SLAs and procurement timelines.
  • Review team progress on open POs, pending deliveries, and invoice status; provide support in resolving challenges.
  • Act as a

    bridge between the HO purchase team and site/project teams

    for seamless coordination.
  • Handle

    escalations

    from internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution.
  • Participate in

    vendor evaluation and periodic performance review

    meetings.
  • Support management in

    cost analysis, vendor rationalization

    , and process improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of

    procurement & supply chain processes

  • Strong

    vendor management, negotiation, and communication

    skills.
  • Ability to handle

    multiple stakeholders

    and competing priorities.
  • Good

    analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making

    ability.
  • Team management experience with a focus on mentoring and performance tracking.
  • Proficiency in

    MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally)

    , and reporting dashboards.
  • Strong

    interpersonal and written communication

Qualification & Experience:

  • Education:

    Graduate / Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    58 years of total experience in procurement, including at least 12 years in a team-handling capacity.
  • Industry Preference:

    Facilities Management / Manufacturing / Infrastructure / Services sector.
