Assistant Professor - Physiotherapy

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

• Deliver lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and tutorials in physiotherapy and related subjects.
• Supervise student projects, dissertations, and clinical placements.
• Develop innovative and inclusive teaching materials and assessments aligned with best practices.
• Contribute to curriculum design, development, and evaluation of physiotherapy programs.

Research and Scholarly Activity:

• Conduct research in a relevant area of physiotherapy, rehabilitation, or related health sciences.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
• Seek external research funding and build collaborative research networks.
• Facilitate and assess students during clinical placements.
• Ensure alignment between academic content and current clinical standards.

Administration:

• Participate in departmental and university committees.
• Contribute to student recruitment, open days, and outreach activities.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Support quality assurance processes and accreditation activities.

Qualifications and Experience:Essential:

• A degree in Physiotherapy and registration with a relevant professional body
• A postgraduate qualification (e.g., MSc) in a relevant field.
• Teaching experience in higher education or clinical education.
• Clinical experience as a practicing physiotherapist.

Desirable:

• PhD or near completion in a relevant field.
• Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance.
• Evidence of research activity and publication.
• Fellowship of a Higher Education Academy (or willingness to obtain).
