Assistant Plant Manager

As an Assistant Plant Manager at our manufacturing facility located in Wazirabad Tehsil and District: Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, your role will be crucial in ensuring daily operations run smoothly, efficiency is maximized, and production targets are consistently met in a safe and cost-effective manner. You will work closely with the Plant Manager to oversee various plant activities including production, maintenance, quality control, safety, and workforce management. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Plant Manager in the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility. - Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality control, logistics, and other departments to meet output and delivery schedules. - Monitor production KPIs to ensure targets for quality, cost, and output are consistently achieved. - Supervise and manage plant staff, operators, and supervisors to maintain discipline and enhance productivity. - Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with statutory and environmental regulations. - Support preventive maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime. - Assist in driving continuous process improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Lean, and 5S. - Maintain proper documentation for audits including ISO, internal, and external audits. - Support budgeting, inventory management, and cost control activities. - Troubleshoot operational issues and contribute to decision-making on the shop floor. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Production Engineering. - 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role. - Good understanding of plant operations, production planning, and maintenance. - Familiarity with safety regulations, ISO/TS standards, and EHS compliance. - Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills. - Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems such as SAP or Tally. Preferred Attributes: - Experience in the Biomass fuel sector. - Lean Six Sigma certification or experience in process improvement. - Willingness to work in shifts or extended hours when required. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
