Assistant Manager-Stores is responsible for overseeing the inventory management, procurement, and distribution of materials and equipment required for the efficient operation of the solar plant. This role ensures that all materials are available when needed and that inventory levels are maintained to support continuous plant operations.
Expect in handling Solar Panels, Inverters, Mounting Structures, Cables and Connectors, Lightning Arresters, Surge Protectors, Batteries, conductors and substation equipments.
Receive incoming materials as per purchase orders - Inspect quality and quantity in coordination with QA/QC and technical teams - Maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs)
Maintain accurate records of all stock (manual & ERP-based) - Monitor and update stock levels regularly - Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation
Issue materials to site teams based on Indents/Material Requisitions - Maintain issue records with traceability (batch, tower numbers, etc.)
Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of Inverters, Structures, Inverters, line towers, conductors, hardware, relays, circuit breakers, etc.
Maintain updated store ledgers, MRRs, GRNs, DCs, stock registers, and consumption reports - Generate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for HO/project managers
Maintain safety procedures for material handling equipment and storage practices - Ensure environmental and statutory compliance at store locations
Maintain accurate records of all inventory, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials and equipment
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate contracts to obtain the best prices and terms.
Monitor stock levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages or overstocking.
Manage the logistics of material transportation to and from the plant, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Ensure proper documentation of GRN, MRN, Issue Slips, and stock registers.
Lead and supervise store personnel, providing training and guidance to ensure efficient operations.
Ensure all storage and handling procedures comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Prepare and present regular reports on inventory status, procurement activities, and any issues or discrepancies.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in inventory management.
Implement FIFO (First In First Out) method for inventory management and optimize storage space utilization.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in all aspects of stores management.
Conduct regular stock audits and implement loss prevention measures.
Verify incoming materials for quality, quantity, and compliance with specifications.
