Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of air freight operations at the point of origin.
  • Coordinate with ground transportation and warehouse teams to ensure smooth first-mile logistics.
  • Optimize last-mile delivery solutions for air cargo, considering time-sensitive requirements.
  • Collaborate with local delivery partners and ground services to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the logistics operations.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Lead and supervise a team of logistics personnel involved in first-mile and last-mile operations.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure staff members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and professional development.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics partners to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor performance with vendors and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and monitor the performance of first-mile and last-mile logistics operations.
  • Analyse data and provide regular reports to management, suggesting improvements where necessary.
  • Use insights to drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Identify potential risks in air logistics operations and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Develop contingency plans for unexpected disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance standards in the logistics industry.
  • Implement customer-centric solutions to enhance overall satisfaction levels.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience during the final stages of the delivery process.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in logistics-related regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Work with IT teams to implement and maintain logistics management systems.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proven experience in logistics, with a focus on first mile and last mile operations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

Familiarity with logistics software and systems.

Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
