Assistant Manager - Master data management

Role & responsibilities

• Manage and maintain finance-related master data in SAP, specifically across FI (Financial Accounting), MM (Materials Management), and SD (Sales & Distribution) modules, including:
• Vendor Master (MM/FI)
• Material/Item Master (MM)
• HSN Code Creation and Tagging (FI/MM)
• GL Account Head (FI) Cost Center and Profit Center Hierarchies (FI/CO)
• Asset and Asset Type (FI-AA)
• Payment Terms, Bank Accounts, Internal Orders (FI)
• Ensure timely updates and accuracy of master data across systems (SAP, CRM, LIMS).

Data Standardization

• Implement and monitor data standards, naming conventions, and coding protocols for finance master data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Sales, Logistics, Lab Operations) to ensure consistency across SAP MM, SD, and FI modules.

System Integration & Validation

• Coordinate with IT and application teams to ensure seamless integration of finance master data across SAP, CRM, and LIMS.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new data setups and modifications.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Maintain audit trails and version control for all finance master data changes.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards (e.g., ISO, NABL).

Data Change Management & Documentation

• Prepare and manage change requests for finance master data updates.
• Maintain SOPs and documentation for master data workflows and approvals.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Liaise with Finance, Procurement, Sales, and IT teams to gather requirements and resolve data-related issues.
• Provide training and support to end-users on finance master data processes.

Data Quality Monitoring

• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of finance master data to identify inconsistencies or duplications.
• Generate reports and dashboards to monitor data quality and performance metrics.

Project Support

• Support finance master data preparation for new lab setups, SAP upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum 8+ yrs of experience in SAP HANA and finance operations
• Strong understanding of finance master data structures and workflows
• Proficiency in Excel and data management tools
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
