Job Description : Legal Manager (Litigation & Non Litigation) Required Education Level: Law degree from any National Law University or any reputed law college in India. Required Professional Qualification: Must be an enrolled Advocate with any State Bar Council across India. Experience Required: 3-7 years post qualification experience with a law firm/lawyer/ in-house legal of a corporate. Fresher with good academic and internship credentials may also be considered. Required abilities, skills and knowledge: Contract and Litigation Management. This role is designed to focus primarily on contract management, compliance, and legal risk assessment, while also providing support in managing litigation matters as needed. Contract Management & Negotiation Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, partnership agreements, and real estate leases. Assess the legal implications of contractual terms and advise management on potential risks and required modifications. Support business teams in structuring and negotiating agreements that align with corporate objectives. Ensure all contracts comply with statutory regulations and internal policies. Legal Risk & Compliance Provide legal advice on commercial agreements, license agreements, sub-license agreements, vendor contracts, and other business arrangements to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Identify potential legal risks in business operations and recommend appropriate strategies to minimize exposure. Offer guidance on legal protection and risk management, particularly in contract execution and business negotiations. Develop and implement internal training programs to ensure awareness of legal obligations and compliance requirements among employees. Policy & Regulatory Compliance Review internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory standards. Monitor regulatory developments that may impact the company and provide updates and strategic recommendations to management. Develop and oversee compliance checklists to ensure adherence to statutory and legal requirements. Collaborate with relevant departments to establish best practices for compliance and risk management. Litigation Oversight & Dispute Resolution Manage pre-litigation matters by working with internal stakeholders to mitigate disputes before they escalate. Liaise with external legal counsel on litigation matters when required, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives. Maintain a litigation database and provide periodic updates to senior management on the status of ongoing cases. Advise management on dispute resolution strategies, including mediation and arbitration, to minimize legal exposure. Key Result Areas : Strong leadership and managerial skills; Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with government and/or commercial contract administration, particularly contract negotiation, preparation and execution; Excellent relationship management, communication and negotiation skills necessary for interaction with the Government authorities and others; Ability to provide independent advice (orally and in writing) to senior level management on highly technical matters; Demonstrate success in managing and conducting a variety of litigation matters; Good planning and organization skills Excellent relationship management, communication and negotiation skills necessary for interaction with the Government authorities and others
