Assistant Manager - Legal

Role & responsibilities

• Address and resolve legal matters and client grievances raised before various Exchanges (e.g., NSE,BSE) in a timely, professional, and effective manner.
• Draft, review, and vet submissions, agreements, and other legal documents
• Handle Exchange and Depository complaints through SEBI SCORES and SMART ODR portals.
• Represent Trading Member before IGRC, Arbitration, and Appellate Arbitration forums.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and represented the Trading Member before the Honble High Court, City Civil & Sessions Court, and Magistrate Courts
• Collaborate closely with the company's legal counsel to prepare and file submissions for various legal proceedings, including but not limited to:
• Cheque bouncing cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
• Consumer court cases and Section 34 matters under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
• Labour court cases and police-related matters, as applicable.
• Coordinate with advocates to ensure timely and accurate filing of legal documents, representation in hearings, and compliance with procedural requirements.
• Monitor case progress, maintain detailed records, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the legal department of a broking firm, with expertise in handling IGRC, Arbitration, Section 138 matters, Section 34 matters, consumer court cases, and upholding legal compliance on various Exchange portals.
• Bachelors degree or A Master’s degree in Law (LLB) is preferred.
