Assistant Manager- Controllership

As a member of the Canada Finance team, you will support the Expense accounting function by executing month-end and quarter-end close processes, extracting financial information, driving continuous improvements through automation, and assisting audits. Your role demands self-motivation, quick learning abilities, results-driven mindset, and a passion for leading change to enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and submit journal entries, account reconciliations, and documentation for accuracy, compliance, and thorough record-keeping. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting. - Assist in the month-end close process, focusing on account-related activities. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization. - Support the development and implementation of financial controls. - Participate in ad-hoc projects and analysis as required. - Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting principles. - Assist in gathering materials for audits. - Support Chart of Values requests and system inquiries. - Contribute to a positive team environment. Qualifications Required: - CPA, CA, CFA, CMA, MBA in Finance. - 4-6 years of experience in Controllership, preferably in insurance or financial services. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. - Ability to manage conflicts, influence without authority, and drive change. - Proficiency in technology for operational excellence. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong organizational and project management skills. - Proven track record of leading projects. - Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems and Hyperion is an asset. - Ability to work independently in a cross-cultural environment and manage time-sensitive deliverables.
