Roles & Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Review work prepared by associates with a focus on completeness, accuracy, and analysis.
  • Identify errors, document review notes, and provide clear corrective feedback.
  • Review and prepare complex financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Ensure project wrap-up, file completeness, documentation, and sign-offs.
  • Provide best practices on classification, documentation standards, and processes.
  • Calculate and prepare KPIs, dashboards, and client-level performance metrics.
  • Manage team deliverables, conduct regular check-ins, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Service complex client engagements with minimal supervision.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to address operational and client needs promptly.
  • Work as a

    performance coach

    to train staff on accounting concepts, tools, and processes.
  • Support in appraisals, goal setting, staffing, hiring, and practice initiatives.
  • Participate in issue resolution, process improvements, and advisory support.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, objectivity, and professional skepticism.
  • Work independently under tight timelines and manage multiple priorities.

Role Expectations

  • Lead and deliver accounting/audit work within deadlines and quality standards.
  • Regularly interact with clients, seniors, and cross-office counterparts.
  • Communicate work progress, risks, and dependencies clearly.
  • Guide seniors on advanced accounting methodologies and financial statement preparation.
  • Participate in improving systems, tools, processes, and advisory initiatives.
  • Proactively engage clients for growth, advisory opportunities, and account expansion.
  • Allocate tasks, track progress, conduct reviews, coach teams, and resolve issues.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 610 years of accounting experience (Public Accounting / Controller profile U.S. GAAP focused).
  • Experience reviewing and preparing complex financial statements.
  • Strong exposure to

    Deferred Revenue, Revenue Recognition, Prepaids, Accruals, Intercompany Accounting

    .
  • Hands-on recent experience with

    QBO (QuickBooks Online)

    ,

    Intacct

    , or similar accounting software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to recommend process improvements.
  • Excellent team management, supervisory training, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT), Adobe, Outlook, and tools like Bill.com, MIP Abila, Business Central.
  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a plus (must be obtained post-joining if not available).
