Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assessment Lead with a strong ELT background, proven expertise in the full lifecycle of assessment development, and the flexibility to take on editorial work for ELT products as needed. This role involves leading the design, development, and quality assurance of assessments, ensuring alignment with curriculum frameworks, while also supporting broader editorial needs for print and digital resources.

Principal accountabilities:

Assessment Leadership:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of assessment development — from design and content creation to validation, quality assurance, and delivery.
  • Align all assessments with relevant frameworks (e.g., CEFR, CBSE, ICSE) and organisational pedagogical standards.
  • Conduct market and competitor research on assessment trends, tools, and approaches.
  • Establish and maintain assessment quality benchmarks and review processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subject matter experts, and freelancers to deliver assessments that meet learner needs and market expectations.

Editorial (ELT) Responsibilities:

  • Take on editorial responsibilities for ELT products when required, including manuscript evaluation, content development, and copy-editing.
  • Ensure content is accurate, inclusive, and aligned to curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Create or adapt templates, style guides, and editorial workflows to support publishing needs.

Market & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Stay updated on education policy changes, curriculum reforms, and board guidelines impacting assessment.
  • Conduct competition analysis for both assessment products and ELT publishing.
  • Provide product/assessment training to internal teams and educators as required.

Project & Budget Management:

  • Plan, track, and deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and ensure compliance with internal vendor/freelancer processes.

Additional Duties

To carry out any other duties which may be reasonably expected of you by your immediate manager or a senior director.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in assessment design, validation, and implementation.
  • Proven ELT editorial skills with the ability to adapt to multiple project types.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and quality focus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Master's degree in English, Education, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • 3–5 years of experience in educational publishing or assessment roles (preferably ELT).
  • Proven experience in full assessment lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with curriculum standards (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, CEFR) and assessment frameworks.
  • Exposure to both: print and digital product workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with publishing software is desirable.
