Job Title: AS400 Developer Location: On-site, India Role Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain AS400 applications to meet business requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in RPG and COBOL. Perform unit testing and debugging of applications to ensure functionality. Monitor application performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Support system integration between AS400 and other platforms. Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Prepare technical documentation for users and support staff. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for applications. Ensure data integrity and security within AS400 systems. Assist in the configuration and deployment of applications. Stay updated with new technologies and methodologies relevant to AS400. Provide support for production issues and resolve them in a timely manner. Train and support end-users on application functionalities. Collaborate with project managers to meet project deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in AS400 application development. Strong proficiency in RPG, COBOL, and CL programming languages. Experience with DB2 databases and SQL queries. Knowledge of integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Rational Developer for i. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project lifecycle. Understanding of software development best practices and standards. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Understanding of system security and data protection protocols. Previous experience in a similar role is a plus. Knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks is desirable.
