AI/ML Engineer – Multilingual Voice Receptionist

About the Project

We’re building something groundbreaking — an AI call receptionist for a university that can naturally handle inquiries over the phone in English, Mandarin, and Malaysian slang, even mixing them fluidly like a real local speaker.

What You’ll Do

• Design, train, and deploy a multilingual conversational AI that handles phone inquiries in real time.
• Integrate speech recognition (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) systems with natural, human-like flow.
• Develop language models capable of code-switching (English ↔ Mandarin ↔ Malay).
• Fine-tune existing LLMs or NLP models for voice interaction and context retention.
• Build and connect AI models with telephony systems (Twilio, Asterisk, Dialogflow CX, etc.) for call handling.
• Optimize for speed, accuracy, and cultural nuance — the bot should sound smart, not robotic.
• Deploy scalable solutions using AWS / GCP / Azure, with Docker or Kubernetes.

What You Should Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Strong background in Python and modern ML/NLP frameworks (Hugging Face, LangChain, Rasa, spaCy).
• Experience with speech-to-text and text-to-speech technologies (e.g. Whisper, ElevenLabs, Azure Speech).
• Proven experience in multilingual NLP or code-switching datasets.
• Familiarity with LLMs (Llama, GPT, or similar) and conversational AI pipelines.
• Solid grasp of cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD workflows.
• Bonus: Experience with voice bots, IVR systems, or AI call assistants.

Nice-to-Haves

• Knowledge of Malaysian English & cultural slang nuances.
• Previous projects involving AI voice receptionists, virtual assistants, or university chatbots.
• Understanding of Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) or custom model tuning.
• Strong communication skills — you’ll collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
