Brief
The Area Sales Manager (Supermarket) will oversee and grow GO DESi’s presence in supermarket channels within Bengaluru. The role includes leading a field sales team, building and maintaining partnerships with supermarket chains, and achieving sales, distribution, and visibility targets.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive primary and secondary sales in supermarkets, modern trade outlets, and large retail stores in Bengaluru.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of sales representatives.
- Build strong relationships with store managers, buyers, and key accounts for enhanced product placements and promotions.
- Plan and execute market strategies to increase brand presence, market share, and achieve monthly/quarterly/annual targets.
- Monitor competitor activities, analyze market trends, and recommend actions.
- Track sales figures, prepare detailed sales and stock reports, and present insights to senior management.
- Conduct regular field visits for supervision, auditing merchandising, and collecting market feedback.
- Ensure high product visibility, planograms, and stock availability in all managed outlets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 4+ years’ experience in FMCG/food sector, with strong exposure to supermarket or modern trade channel sales in Bengaluru.
- Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing sales teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
- Proficient with MS Office, sales reporting, and familiarity with CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Bengaluru as required.
