Job Summary:

Area Sales Manager - General Trade

Responsibilities:

1. Complete Ownership of General Trade Sales Channel:

o Lead and execute sales strategies to drive growth in the general trade sector across West Region.

o Develop and manage sales budgets, set performance targets, and monitor market trends.

2. Creation of Sales Team:

o Build, develop, and lead a sales team from scratch, including Territory Sales Officers, Sales Officers, etc.

o Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance management to ensure team success.

3. North-India Distributor Network Development:

o Establish and expand a robust distribution network to optimize product availability and reach.

o Identify, onboard, and manage key distributors and partners to enhance market penetration.

4. Distributor Relationships and Marketing Schemes:

o Drive the creation and implementation of marketing schemes at the distributor level to increase product visibility and sales.

o Maintain strong relationships with distributors to ensure efficient operations and compliance with company policies.

5. Implementation of Robust Tracking and Reporting:

o Implement touchpoint tracking mechanisms to monitor and manage customer interactions.

o Develop and enforce policies for debtor management to improve cash flow and financial stability.

o Prepare and present regular sales reports and performance analyses to top management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field

Minimum experience of 5 years is a must in General Trade.

Extensive knowledge of the general trade landscape and distribution networks in North India Region. FMCG sector experience, Food or Snacking category experience preferred (similar industry like dryfruits, nuts and seeds)

Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to travel extensively across North India as required.
