Area Controller: Component Region India, Assembly shop

Purpose of the Position:

This position is responsible for organizing controlling function by planning, budget, monthly forecast & KPI reporting with variance analysis for all costs including indirect & direct manpower, overheads etc. pertaining to components region India and assembly shop. Also responsible for direct manpower topics (wage settlement), indirect material inventory and after-market spares pricing.

Authority:

• Shopping cart approvals & Non PO Invoice approvals based on authority matrix
• MPR pre check and pre approvals
• Cost improvement ideas approval based on authority matrix in Idea plus
• DLVs pre check and pre approval
• Budget and adjusted budget target alignment with respective departments

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of project costing & budgeting, cost controlling, GL accounts, finance controlling, Production & Manufacturing Process.
• MS Office & Know-how of system implementation SAP / ERP
• Conflict Management & Negotiations
• Initiator, Self-motivated & Action Oriented

Key Responsibilities &Tasks:

1. Determination of Planning round [PR] & Budget :

Work with area / dept. to understand the realistic future costs vs. level of activity.

To discuss & after consent assign appropriate budget to each department with distribution over sub-cost centers, GL codes & time - month as per past data and benchmarks.

Establish the benchmarks in terms of cost/car for all significant costs.

2. Monthly closing & Reporting to Management [ Actuals & Forecast] :

Plan provision entries in line with all the expected invoices, deferred payments, accrued expenses with discussion with CCs, purchases and accounts.

Accurate forecast of future costs after discussion with CC HODs to anticipate any cost overrun / saving.

Analysis of variance of actual vs forecast and vs budget and vs last year

3. KPI Reporting to Management :

To support Factory cost Controller to prepare senior executive management reports [department wise cost], including detailed breakdowns.

Preparation & release of "Budget Vs. Actual Vs. Forecast" Status & variance analysis reports at predetermined frequency for Area / Dept. Also.

Conduct meeting with dept. for KPI discussion & to resolve issues

4. Other Functions :

To participate in wage settlement meetings and evaluate different scenarios as per management requirement.

To receive, update & report the accurate head count status & salary report - level wise & department wise - to find out the total Labor cost.

Indirect material Inventory Analysis & conduct and coordinate for physical audit.

To approve SCs/ DLV's in line with signing limits & primary probing with respective dept. before approvals - possibility of full / partial cuts.

After market spares pricing and validation

Contribute towards design and implementation of cost control procedures for all significant costs.

Liasoning with Auditors to resolve issues.
