Apprentice - Lab Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Lab Assistant Apprentice to support daily laboratory operations, testing activities, and documentation processes. This role is designed for fresh graduates who want hands-on experience in a scientific lab environment and aspire to build a long-term career in QA, QC, or R&D.

You will work closely with Lab Executives, QA, QC, and R&D teams to assist in sample analysis, equipment handling, and data recording—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth running of the lab.

What You’ll Do1. Laboratory Testing & Analysis

• Assist in sample preparation, handling, and basic analytical testing for raw materials, bulk, and finished goods.
• Support standard physical tests (pH, viscosity, appearance, stability observations, etc.).
• Help in maintaining retention samples and ensuring proper labelling.

2. Equipment Handling & Housekeeping

• Support the operation, cleaning, and calibration of lab instruments as guided by supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene across workstations and storage areas.
• Ensure safety protocols, PPE usage, and good laboratory practices (GLP).

3. Documentation & Record Keeping

• Assist in updating lab registers, test records, COAs, checklists, and logbooks.
• Maintain proper documentation of test results under supervision.
• Help in digitising or filing reports as necessary.

4. Coordination & Support

• Work with QA/QC executives to collect samples from production or warehouse areas.
• Support in stability studies, trial batches, and routine lab workflows.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for sample movement or basic quality queries.

What We Are Looking For

• B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, or related field
• Interest in laboratory work, testing methods, and product science
• Basic understanding of lab instruments (preferred, not mandatory)
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined execution
• Good communication and documentation habits
• Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols
