API Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote opportunity with flexible engagement options—hourly or project-based.

Role Overview

As an API Automation Engineer, you will:

• Design API Workflows

  : Build and manage end-to-end API automation systems to connect platforms, tools, and databases.

• Integrate RESTful & GraphQL APIs

  : Work with a wide range of APIs, ensuring seamless data flow across systems and services.

• Script Automation Logic

  : Use scripting (Python/JavaScript) to implement logic, error handling, and custom execution layers.

• Handle Webhooks

  : Design, consume, and manage webhooks for real-time event-driven automations.

• Test & Monitor

  : Create test suites for API workflows and implement logging/monitoring to ensure reliability and performance.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  : Work closely with developers, operations, and product managers to automate repetitive processes and scale backend operations.

Technical Requirements & Skills

• Experience

  : Minimum 2+ years in API development, integration, or backend automation.

• API Proficiency

  : Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and API authentication standards (OAuth, API keys, tokens).

• Webhooks & Triggers

  : Experience with event-driven architecture and webhook consumption.

• Scripting

  : Strong hands-on experience in Python or JavaScript for building custom automation logic.

• Tools

  : Familiarity with API testing and monitoring tools like Postman, Insomnia, or Swagger.

• Error Handling & Retry Logic

  : Ability to build fault-tolerant automation systems with robust logging and failover mechanisms.
