Job Profile: US Mortgage Underwriter
Location: Noida
• Evaluate mortgage loan applications to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company and industry guidelines.
• Review and analyze credit reports, income documents, asset statements, property appraisals, and other relevant documents.
• Make informed underwriting decisions for Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs.
• Approve, suspend, or deny loan applications based on thorough analysis and company policies.
• Provide clear and concise conditions for loan approval to processors and loan officers.
• Ensure all underwriting activities comply with federal and state regulations, company policies, and secondary market guidelines.
• Assess risk factors and determine loan eligibility within specified parameters to mitigate potential risks.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of underwriting decisions and conditions.
• Communicate effectively with loan officers, processors, and other relevant parties to facilitate a smooth loan processing workflow.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and underwriting best practices.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelors degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years of mortgage underwriting experience, with proficiency in Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the 4 Cs of underwriting – Credit, Capacity, Collateral, and Capital.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in mortgage underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
