Job Description

Role Overview: As a RMBS Structured Finance (SF) Analyst at DBRS Morningstar, you will be part of a global credit ratings business committed to empowering investor success. Your role will involve analyzing credit risk in Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities transactions, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis on underlying loans and properties, and assisting with collateral pool analysis. You will have the opportunity to work on in-depth collateral and deal analysis, preparing rating committee notes, and maintaining various databases related to mortgages. Key Responsibilities: - Review deal documents, legal documentation, and periodic data to analyze credit risk in Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities - Prepare and run cash flow models using tools like Intex Calc - Assist in preparing rating committee notes and rationale - Collect, organize, and study data for criteria development, ratings, and research reports - Compile periodic portfolio reports and identify material changes for research purposes - Communicate effectively with operations and technology teams to ensure tasks meet defined requirements - Demonstrate a strong learning curve and eagerness to progress in the rating value chain - Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures - Maintain a high level of organization and efficiency, multitasking to meet tight deadlines Qualifications Required: - Postgraduate in Finance, CA, CFA charter holder, or equivalent qualification - 1-2 years of relevant experience in capital markets or structured finance credit analysis - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and MSSQL - Knowledge of Python is a plus - Excellent writing, communication, and quantitative/analytical skills - Ability to communicate analytical thoughts concisely - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quantitative and analytical skills - Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team - Highly motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Additional Company Details: Morningstar DBRS is a leading provider of independent rating services globally, rating more than 4,000 issuers and 60,000 securities.
