Reporting to the Operations Manager the role will be to provide Supervision and Leadership to the Operations areas of Company. This role will require you to actively contribute and support OH&S, Quality, Security, Planning and Improvement activities, co-ordinate and manage all aspects of Production planning, People management, Maintenance, Health & Safety.
• Trade in engineering/or experience in metals or aerospace industry
• Experience in managing a Quality Assurance program to the accreditation of ISO 9001
• Be able to write and implement quality procedures to ensure effective operations
• Be able to identify issues and implement improvements to ensure quality
• Advanced level PC Skills encompassing Microsoft packages
• Ability to understand company products
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to successfully manage a team
• Ability to liaise effectively with clientele and provide production related advice
• Self motivation and the ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to plan, coordinate and strategise to meet business plans
• Ability to interpret and adhere to financial budgets.
o Provide leadership to the shop floor team and oversee activities to ensure all standard work practices are followed
o Responsible for planning and scheduling of operation resources to ensure that business requirements are achieved under the most cost effective manner.
o Responsible for setting and delegation of activities for all operations staff and workmen.
o Ensure maintenance of machines Preventative Maintenance Programs are in place as required to support operation requirements.
o Ensure all machines are running at the highest possible efficiency and safety levels.
o Ensure all Operations consumable supplies are purchased and are available.
o Generate and maintain accurate records and reports as required by the quality system or as defined by the business needs.
o Manage labour-related internal issues arising in routine operations including disciplinary and remedial actions HSE o Ensure OH & S and safety in all shop floor activities.
o Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times by all employees and visitors.
o Report all safety incidents / accidents to relevant staff.
o Conduct Operational diagnostic audits and plan improvements o Actively contribute in the motivation and improving productivity of employees.
o Monitor and measure key performance indicators.
