Description & Accountabilities:
HVAC Outfitting Operations Management
: - Oversee HVAC outfitting activities at the block stage, including planning, installation, testing, and quality assurance of HVAC systems.
- Develop work schedules in coordination with work preparator for outfitting activities, ensuring alignment with project milestones and coordinating with other outfitting sections.
- Ensure that all HVAC installations meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards and are executed in accordance with project specifications.
Supervision of Team Members
: - Supervise the Work Preparator/Material Controller and Supervisor HVAC, providing clear instructions, support, and resources for efficient task completion.
- Guide the team in resource allocation, prioritizing tasks to maintain outfitting schedule and prevent delays.
Material & Resource Coordination
: - Work closely with the Work Preparator/Material Controller to ensure the timely availability of materials, tools, and equipment necessary for engineering and auxiliary outfitting activities.
- Track material usage, manage inventory levels, and liaise with the procurement team to prevent material shortages and ensure continuous workflow.
- Maintain accurate documentation of materials received, issued, and consumed, supporting budget compliance and inventory accuracy.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
: - Implement quality control measures for all HVAC outfitting activities, conducting regular inspections to verify that installations meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate with the quality control team to address any quality issues, taking corrective actions as needed to meet project and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that all HVAC outfitting activities follow safety and environmental regulations, promoting safe work practices within the team.
Project Tracking & Reporting
: - Monitor and report on the progress of HVAC outfitting tasks, tracking project milestones, resource usage, and adherence to timelines.
- Provide regular updates to the Head of Machinery Outfitting on task completion, material status, and any challenges affecting the project schedule.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records, progress reports, and documentation for internal reviews and audits, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Project Management, Quality Control, or Supply Chain Management are advantageous.
Preferred Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in HVAC outfitting or project management within shipbuilding, oil & gas, offshore infrastructure or heavy engineering environments, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Hands-on experience in planning, coordinating, and executing HVAC installation tasks, including quality assurance, repair and regulatory compliance.

- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation processes, and quality standards specific to shipbuilding.

- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills for managing resources, scheduling tasks, and tracking progress.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Competency in addressing issues related to HVAC outfitting, resource management, and quality control.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software, inventory management systems, and MS Office for data tracking and reporting.
