Role Overview:

The Commercial Controller will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, governance, and business insights. This role is a unique blend of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Finance, and Controllership, responsible for ensuring sound financial control, accurate reporting, and strategic decision support to business leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support in preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actuals, budget, and forecast; highlight key business drivers and risks.
  • Partner with business teams to provide actionable insights on cost optimization and margin improvement.
  • Develop management dashboards, MIS, and performance review presentations for leadership.

Business Finance

  • Act as a finance business partner to commercial and operational teams.
  • Evaluate pricing, commercials, and new business proposals with financial viability analysis.
  • Drive profitability analysis at customer/product/channel level.
  • Track key KPIs, revenue assurance, and support in commercial negotiations and contract reviews.
  • Support business decisions with scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis.

Controllership & Compliance

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records in line with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Coordinate monthly closing activities, accruals, reconciliations, and provisioning.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and audit readiness.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for timely completion of audits.
  • Implement process improvements and strengthen internal financial controls.

Qualification & Experience:

  • CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute.
  • 14 years of relevant experience in FP&A, business finance, controllership, or commercial roles.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, and financial modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel / Power BI preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
