Role Overview

Mid-Level AI Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• AI Agent Development

  : Design, build, and deploy intelligent agents using frameworks like 

  LangChain

  , with tools, memory, and reasoning capabilities.

• Language Model Integration

  : Work with both 

  closed-source (OpenAI, Anthropic)

   and 

  open-source models

   using tools like 

  Hugging Face

  , 

  Ollama

  , or 

  vLLM

  .

• RAG Pipelines

  : Implement and optimize 

  Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

   architectures using 

  vector databases

   like 

  Pinecone

  , 

  Weaviate

  , or 

  Chroma

  .

• Fine-Tuning

  : Fine-tune open-source models using techniques like 

  LoRA

  , 

  QLoRA

  , or 

  PEFT

   for domain-specific tasks.

• Prompt Engineering

  : Craft effective prompts, toolchains, and memory systems to optimize model outputs.

• Backend AI Integration

  : Use 

  Python and Node.js

   to deliver scalable AI APIs and integrate agents into product workflows.

• Database Management

  : Manage both traditional databases (

  PostgreSQL, MongoDB

  ) and 

  vector stores

   for structured and semantic data needs.

• MLOps & Deployment

  : Deploy and monitor models in production using 

  AWS, GCP, or Azure

  , leveraging

  vLLM

  , or similar for optimized inference.

• Rapid Iteration

  : Deliver fast prototypes and iterate based on feedback. Comfortable working under tight timelines.

• Compliance & Privacy

  : Ensure AI systems are built with regulatory awareness (GDPR, FCA, NHS) in mind.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in 

  AI/ML engineering

   with a focus on real-world product deployments.
• Strong coding skills in 

  Python

   and 

  Node.js

  .
• Proven experience with 

  LangChain

  , 

  RAG pipelines

  , and 

  vector databases

  .
• Hands-on with 

  LLMs

   (GPT, Claude, Mistral, etc.) via APIs or self-hosted setups.
• Experience with 

  Hugging Face Transformers

  Ollama

  , 

  vLLM

  , or 

  TGI

  .
• Experience fine-tuning models using LoRA/QLoRA or similar lightweight methods.
• Familiarity with 

  cloud deployment

   and 

  model hosting best practices

• Understanding of both

• Ability to move quickly and ship production-quality features with minimal overhead.
