Job Description

Adventure Park Operator

The primary responsibility of an operator is the safe and efficient daily operation of specific attractions.

  • Guest Interaction:

    Greet guests, provide clear instructions, and assist with boarding and exiting attractions (e.g., ziplines, rope courses, climbing walls). Answer questions about park policies and rules.
  • Safety Compliance:

    Ensure all guests meet height and health restrictions and that safety restraints and equipment are used correctly. Monitor guest behavior and enforce safety guidelines.
  • Ride Operations:

    Operate the attraction's control panel, including start, stop, speed controls, and emergency stop buttons. Monitor the ride cycle continuously to ensure proper and safe functioning.
  • Maintenance & Reporting:

    Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks. Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns to maintenance staff or supervisors.
  • Emergency Response:

    Follow established emergency response plans and provide basic first aid assistance if needed.
  • Area Maintenance:

    Maintain cleanliness and organization within the assigned attraction area.

The manager oversees all aspects of the park's operations, focusing on strategic planning, financial performance, and overall guest satisfaction, in addition to safety.

  • Operations Management:

    Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the entire park, including opening and closing procedures, ride rotations, and crowd management.
  • Safety & Risk Management:

    Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and emergency response plans. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ASTM standards).
  • Staff Leadership & Development:

    Hire, train, schedule, and mentor a diverse team of employees, from operators to guest services and maintenance staff. Foster a culture of excellence, safety, and teamwork.
  • Guest Experience:

    Focus on guest satisfaction by analyzing feedback, addressing customer complaints promptly, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
  • Financial Oversight:

    Manage park budgets, track expenditures, forecast revenue, and identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Maintenance Coordination:

    Coordinate maintenance schedules for all attractions and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Marketing & Promotions:

    Collaborate with marketing teams to plan and execute special events, promotions, and campaigns to attract visitors.

The manager role demands strong leadership, problem-solving, and financial acumen, while the operator role requires diligence, communication skills, and a strong focus on immediate safety protocols.
