Accounts & Finance Head/Chartered Accountant

Our client is an Australian company, a leader in their industry, seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounts & Finance Head/Chartered Accountant to join their team remotely from India.

*Fixed 5-day working week, Monday to Friday, with a day shift*

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will manage all accounting functions with precision, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective collaboration with the Australian accounts team to support strategic financial initiatives.

Role & responsibilities:-

• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion and accurate reporting.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
• Ensure payroll processing is accurate and timely, in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Lead the implementation of new accounting systems and tools to improve financial reporting accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations ensuring timely and accurate filing of BAS Return’s and assistance external accountants with preparation of tax returns.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making by senior management.
• Collaborate with External Accountants to ensure alignment of financial processes and reporting with their statutory reporting.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Xero and advanced financial software is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Meticulous in financial analysis and reporting.
• Expertise in managing cross-border financial transactions in a virtual framework.
