Job Description

Currently Hiring for "Accountant" for a finance broking company.

Location-Kolkata (Only local candidates)

Job Purpose:

To manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and support compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the broking industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle daily accounting entries including journal vouchers, payment/receipt entries, and reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain books of accounts as per accounting standards and company policies.
Reconcile client ledgers, broker accounts, bank statements, and depository records (NSDL/CDSL).
Assist in preparation of financial statements, P&L, and balance sheet.
Manage GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances relevant to the broking industry.
Support in audits (statutory, internal, and regulatory audits by SEBI/Exchanges).
Coordinate with operations and compliance teams for accounting-related queries.
Maintain proper documentation and records for reporting and audit purposes.

Requirements:

CA intern /CA / Graduate/Post Graduate in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
2+ years of accounting experience (preferably in a stock broking / financial services company).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and regulatory guidelines (SEBI, Exchanges), finalization of accounts GST filling etc
Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP, or broker-specific back-office software).
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic data analysis.
Attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
