The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of the college. This role involves preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing accurate financial reports to support effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for all financial transactions.
  • Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, and management reports.
  • Manage college funds, fee collections, payroll, and vendor payments.
  • Monitor day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, receipts, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and income tax.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Track grants, scholarships, and other financial aid disbursements.
  • Implement and oversee internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities when required.
  • Provide financial insights and reports to support the Principal/Management in decision-making.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information in line with institutional policies.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field (B.Com/M.Com).
  • Professional certifications such as CA, CMA, or MBA (Finance) preferred.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in an educational institution.

Skills:

  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and taxation.
  • Proficiency in Tally / ERP software, MS Excel, and other accounting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
