Job Title: Academic Counselor Location: Kanhan /Kamptee Department: Sales Reports to: Academic Head / Director Job Summary: The Academic Counselor(Admission officer) will be responsible for guiding prospective and current students in making informed academic and career decisions. The role involves understanding students’ needs, providing course advice, assisting in admissions, and ensuring student satisfaction throughout their academic journey at the institute. Key Responsibilities:Student Counseling & Guidance Provide one-on-one counseling to students regarding course options, career paths, and academic planning. Assess students’ interests, strengths, and academic background to recommend suitable programs. Guide students through the admission process, documentation, and course registration. Admissions & Enrollment Handle inquiries from prospective students via phone, email, and walk-ins. Conduct presentations, seminars, and webinars for student awareness. Maintain and update student records and follow-up databases. 2.Student Support & Retention Address academic concerns, challenges, and feedback from students. Liaise with faculty and administration to ensure smooth academic progress for students. Monitor student performance and suggest remedial actions if required. 3.Promotions & Outreach Participate in educational fairs, school visits, and promotional activities. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials. 4.Reporting & Documentation Maintain counseling logs, admissions data, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to the Academic Head/Management on counseling activities. Key Skills & Competencies:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of academic programs and career opportunities. Empathy, patience, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Office and student management systems. Ability to work under targets and deadlines. Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Prior experience (1–3 years) in student counseling, admissions, or academic advising preferred.
