Workshop Manager

As a Workshop Manager at Ashok Auto, your role involves overseeing the job flow and location at the workshop, including scheduling jobs and allocating labor for day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include managing inward goods, dispatching goods, and handling invoices. It is essential to regularly report progress on each job and communicate any delays or concerns promptly to the Operations manager. You will also be responsible for reporting on manpower overruns or shortfalls. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials in the Service Area - Respond to client requests for updates on job status and maintain open communication channels - Investigate customer complaints, suggest solutions, and discuss with the team for appropriate action - Develop systems to record and store client enquiry information - Identify staff in need of training and implement opportunities for skills improvement - Provide feedback to underperforming staff and keep human resources informed of performance trends - Review customer service orders and inspect technician repairs for quality before vehicle release - Ensure all actions are documented as per Service Workshop policies in work orders - Receive and review customer feedback, ensuring customer satisfaction - Plan and prepare the annual budget for the department, analyze variances, and take corrective actions during implementation Qualifications: - Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Automotive or related field - 7-9 years of experience managing an automotive workshop, preferably attached to a dealership - Extensive knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service, and general repairs - Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with administrative competence - Computer literate with a solid understanding of Microsoft applications - Ability to advise customers on required jobs professionally and in a timely manner Additional Information: The job location is in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh.
