The Global Leveraged Finance Underwriting Credit Team (LFU) in Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is looking for an Associate to join its Credit Assessment team. As an intermediate level professional, the Associate aims to provide top-tier credit risk analysis, monitoring, and credit administration as a partner to the broader ICM Underwriting and Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory (BCMA) teams. Collaborating with the LFU team, the Associate will play a key role in leading an exceptional Leveraged Lending Underwriting organization to significantly enhance Citis end-to-end Leveraged Lending credit management process. Responsibilities include writing Annual Reviews, Quarterly Reviews, and supporting LFU Underwriters on transactions. Key Responsibilities: - Assess the credit and financial strength of Citis most complex Large Corporate Clients by conducting fundamental credit analysis using quantitative and qualitative factors. - Monitor the covered portfolio, track industry trends, assess impacts on key relationships, and escalate potential credit issues to LFU Underwriters, Risk, and BCMA partners. - Understand clients" business models, financial performance, and key credit drivers across various industries, through due diligence processes and ongoing credit monitoring. - Evaluate borrowers" cash flow profiles by creating projection models for assigning regulatory ratings and making credit extension decisions. - Provide analytical support across LFU's core functions related to Leveraged Lending transactions, portfolio management, and global leveraged lending projects. Desired Skills and Qualifications: - 6-9 years of credit analysis, origination, or relevant credit experience. - Strong analytical skills, ability to form independent opinions on credit, and recognize emerging risks. - Team player with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to mentor analysts. - Organizational skills to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks. - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with financial modeling experience. - Ability to handle demanding responsibilities, work independently, manage deadlines, and multitask efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
