Role Responsibilities

  • Secure web applications and APIs end-to-end against vulnerabilities like XSS, SQLi, SSTI, and authentication flaws.
  • Embed continuous security scanning and threat modeling into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Implement auth and session management using JWT and OAuth2 securely.
  • Integrate security testing tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite) into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Harden deployments using Nginx, CSPs, and database security (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Perform threat modeling and provide guidance during architecture and design reviews.
  • Monitor and analyze traffic and vulnerabilities using Linux systems and Wireshark.
  • Document findings and train engineering teams on secure coding practices.


Requirements

  • Background in computer science, cybersecurity, software engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in web application and API security with frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, and Django.
  • Familiarity with common vulnerabilities (XSS, SQLi, SSTI, CSRF, auth flaws) and prevention methods.
  • Hands-on experience with OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, and related tools.
  • Knowledge of authentication/authorization protocols such as JWT and OAuth2.
  • Familiarity with Nginx, PostgreSQL, Linux systems, and network analysis with Wireshark.
  • Ability to work independently and asynchronously with flexible hours.
  • Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported).
