Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Web Accessibility Tester to join the GetInsured

software development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web

accessibility standards and guidelines, and will ensure that our digital products are

accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. This role involves testing websites

and web applications for compliance with accessibility standards and providing actionable

feedback to developers and designers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accessibility testing on websites and web applications to ensure compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.x) and other relevant standards (e.g., ADA, Section 508).
  • Use automated tools, assistive technologies (such as screen readers), and manual testing methods to identify accessibility issues.
  • Document and report accessibility issues, providing clear and actionable feedback to developers and designers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to advocate for accessibility best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in web accessibility.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accessibility test plans, checklists, and documentation.
  • Participate in training and awareness sessions for team members to promote accessibility awareness and best practices.
  • Contribute to design problems related to accessibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human- Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant accessibility standards and regulations.
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Wave, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for ensuring digital inclusivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, CPWA) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of user psychology and design for usability.
  • Experience in user testing.
  • Experience in working with the disabled is a plus.
  • Experience in developing or contributing to accessibility policies, VPAT and guidelines.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
