Job Description

Responsibilities: Operating and Monitoring STP Systems: The specialist would be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the plant's various systems and equipment, including pumps, blowers, chemical feeders, and other machinery. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnosing and troubleshooting plant malfunctions, performing routine maintenance, and coordinating repairs. Water Quality Testing: Conducting regular checks and water quality tests to ensure the treated effluent meets regulatory standards. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and test results. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to environmental protection and occupational safety regulations. Safety: Working safely in a potentially hazardous environment, following safety protocols, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Qualifications: Education: A relevant degree or diploma in engineering/science or a related field is typically required. Experience: Previous experience working in wastewater treatment plants, particularly with STP or ETP systems, is highly desirable. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent communication skills are essential. Physical Demands: The role shall involve working in various conditions, including confined spaces and potentially wet or dirty environments. Specific Skills : Knowledge of Wastewater Treatment Processes: Understanding different treatment technologies (e.g., biological treatment, chemical treatment) and their applications. Knowledge of Equipment: Familiarity with various types of equipment used in STP, including pumps, blowers, clarifiers, and sludge handling equipment.
