About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and proactive individual to join the Shire of Broome as a Waste Management Officer.In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support at the Shire’s Waste Management Facility. This includes accurately assessing incoming waste, ensuring compliance with regulations, and correctly applying the Shire’s fees and charges.A full position description can be found here: Waste Management Officer
This position is a permanent full-time position at the Shire of Broome's Waste Management Facility. The ideal candidate will be available to work rostered hours, Monday - Sunday, 7:00 am - 4:00 p, with a 45-minute break.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and autonomously
  • Excellent customer service skills including the ability to deal with agitated and/or difficult customers.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of filing and records management.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • A demonstrated understanding of the principles of equal opportunity and, occupational health and safety.
  • Experience in reconciling accounts, eftpos and cash transactions.

  • Casual hourly rate: $45.35 + Broome Location Allowance
