Job Responsibilities and Daily Tasks of a Warehouse Manager Main Godown & Retail Godown 1. Stock Racking & Maintenance Properly organize and rack stock in both the main godown and retail godown. Ensure that stock is maintained in an orderly manner for easy access and tracking. 2. Order Placement & Stock Transfers Place orders for stock replenishment in a timely manner to avoid stockouts. Transfer items from the main godown to the showroom as per requirement. 3. Stock Monitoring & Inventory Control Regularly check stock levels and ensure accuracy in inventory records. Maintain stock reports for both the main godown and retail godown. Track unmoved stock, damaged stock, and returned stock. 4. Product Returns & Vendor Coordination Identify and return damaged or unsellable products to vendors. Handle returns due to quality issues or other product-related concerns. 5. Seasonal Purchase & Scheme Management Purchase items based on seasonal demand and promotional schemes. Ensure stock is available for upcoming sales seasons. 6. Warehouse Cleanliness & Safety Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the warehouse. Follow proper safety protocols to ensure secure storage of goods. 7. Reporting & Documentation Prepare and update reports for stock movement, returns, and damaged goods. Keep accurate records of inventory levels and warehouse transactions. 8. Subordinate Staff Management Maintain records of subordinate staff and assign tasks accordingly. Assign work for delivery, item replacement, racking, stacking, counting, and cross-checking invoices. Ensure proper verification of invoices before receiving or dispatching materials. Cross-check transfer lists before sending materials. Monitor staff attendance and work hours. Ensure that staff do not leave their assigned place without prior information. 9. Monthly Physical Stock Verification & Reporting Conduct a monthly physical stock verification to ensure inventory accuracy. Identify discrepancies between physical stock and system records. Generate and submit stock verification reports to management.
