Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations including inbound receipt, storage, order processing, dispatch, and returns.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the warehouse as per food-grade warehousing norms.
  • Implement and maintain Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) including 5S, pest control, and routine cleaning schedules.
  • Enforce FIFO/FEFO practices for stock movement and shelf-life management.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts and periodic stock reconciliation.
  • Ensure the warehouse remains audit-ready at all times, adhering to food safety and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate directly with customers for dispatch schedules, priority shipments, issue resolution, and service updates.
  • Act as the front-end representative of warehouse operations in all customer interactions.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach in identifying operational gaps and driving process improvements.
  • Monitor space utilization and optimize layout for efficient storage and picking.
  • Efficiently handle and lead a team of warehouse staff and supervisors, including manpower planning, shift allocation, and performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular training and ensure high levels of productivity, discipline, and engagement among the team.
  • Oversee the maintenance and safe use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Prepare and review daily MIS, KPIs, stock ageing, and exception reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as QA, logistics, procurement, and customer service for seamless operations

Preferred candidate profile

  • Graduate or Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations; MBA preferred.
  • 8-12 years of experience in managing food/FMCG warehouses.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and warehouse hygiene protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS systems.
  • Proven ability to handle customer coordination and service escalations.
  • Strong leadership with efficient team handling capabilities.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Good analytical, organizational,and communication abilities.
