Job Description

Purpose:

To provide exceptional dining service to guests, ensuring a memorable experience through attentive service, accurate order taking, and effective communication with the kitchen and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Service

    :
    • Greet guests warmly and provide them with menus, explaining daily specials and promotions.
    • Attend to guests' needs promptly and courteously, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  2. Order Taking

    :
    • Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring all special requests and dietary restrictions are noted.
    • Repeat orders back to guests for confirmation to avoid any misunderstandings.
  3. Food and Beverage Knowledge

    :
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
    • Make recommendations for food and beverage pairings to enhance the dining experience.
  4. Service Execution

    :
    • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring proper presentation and attention to detail.
    • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal and address any concerns or requests promptly.
  5. Collaboration

    :
    • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service and maintain a smooth workflow.
  6. Table Management

    :
    • Set up and clear tables efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
    • Prepare tables for the next guests, including resetting cutlery and condiments.
  7. Billing and Payment

    :
    • Present the bill to guests accurately and process payments in accordance with hotel policies.
    • Handle cash and credit transactions securely and responsibly.
  8. Training and Mentorship

    :
    • Assist in training new staff members on service standards and procedures.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in guest service and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • Education

    : High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training is a plus.
  • Experience

    : Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Skills

    :
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic math skills for handling payments and billing.
