VP - Engineering

Mudrex is a Y Combinator-backed organization on a mission to democratize investing. Retail investors use Mudrex to invest in crypto easily. Our flagship product, Coin Sets, has seen amazing traction in the markets we have launched.
We are growing rapidly, and to sustain and support this growth, we are expanding our team. The folks at Mudrex are young, driven, and dedicated to building a self-sustaining platform that simplifies investing in cryptocurrency.Role OverviewThe VP - Engineering will lead and scale the engineering organization at Mudrex, ensuring the delivery of world-class, reliable, and secure technology products. This executive will work cross-functionally with product, business, and leadership teams, championing innovation, quality, and efficiency across product development and infrastructure.Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with Mudrexs business goals.
• Build and lead high-caliber, diverse engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, inclusion, and technical excellence.
• Oversee the engineering hiring strategy, talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Security, and DevOps to deliver scalable and secure fintech/crypto products.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, system architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Prepare, manage, and optimize engineering budgets, vendor relationships, and key technology investments.
• Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery that meets all SLAs and compliance standards (including those relevant to Indian regulations).
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to Mudrex, proposing and implementing innovative solutions that confer a competitive advantage.
• Represent engineering in executive forums, presenting progress, roadblocks, and strategies to the Mudrex leadership, board, and external partners.
• Champion a healthy work environment with psychological safety, transparency, and continuous learning.
• Lead the technical response to critical production or security incidents, ensuring swift, effective resolution.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 12 years experience in engineering, with proven success in leading large technical teams at a fintech, SaaS, or crypto startup.
• Demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, security compliance, and scalable web architectures.
• Deep understanding of the Indian regulatory and security landscape for finance, KYC/AML, and data privacy.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and crisis leadership skills.
