About the Role

Kyndryl is seeking a skilled and proactive L2 Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team, specializing in the support and maintenance of our critical VMware and Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platforms. The successful candidate will be the primary contact for operational tasks, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across our virtualization and blade server environment.

Key Responsibilities (L2 Focus)

The L2 engineer will be responsible for day-to-day operational excellence and troubleshooting, including:

• VMware Infrastructure Management:

• Install, Configure, and Maintain

  vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, and Virtual Machines (VMs)

  .
• Manage licensing for vCenter and perform system architecture analysis for vCenter and ESXi environments.
• Install and Configure

  vSphere Client/vSphere Web Client

  and manage

  ODBC Connections

  to the vCenter Server.
• Proactively mitigate known

  vulnerabilities on ESXi and vCenter

  platforms.

• Hyperconverged and Blade Server Support:

• Provide support for the

  Nutanix AHV

  hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Manage and update

  Fabric Interconnects

  within the blade server environment.
• Perform essential server provisioning activities, including

  Creating and Maintaining Pools

  (UUID, WWPN, WWNN, MAC Address, Server).
• Manage and update

  Server Service Profiles

  and control

  KVM access to the Blade

  servers.

• Operational Excellence:

• Ensure all routine operations and maintenance tasks are performed according to defined procedures and SLAs.
• Coordinate effectively with L3 teams for complex escalations and participate in planning and implementing required changes.

Technical Skills and Expertise

Mandatory Tools & Technology:

• Deep knowledge of

  VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)

  installation, configuration, and administration.
• Experience with

  Nutanix AHV

  virtualization platform.
• Proficiency in managing

  Blade Server

  infrastructure and

  Fiber Interconnects

  .
• Strong understanding of

  Virtual Machine Networking

  principles and configuration.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience:

  4 to 7 years in a dedicated VMware, Virtualization, or HCI support role.

• Certification:

  Achieving or actively working towards industry-recognized certifications is highly valued, particularly:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

• VMware Certified Architect (VCA)
• VMware Certified Expert (VCE)

• Soft Skills:

  Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to handle L2-level escalations and coordinate with global teams.
