About the Role

We are looking for an experienced VIOS (Virtual I/O Server) Trainer to deliver a technical training program focused on IBM i Shared Environment within IBM Power Systems.

The trainer will be responsible for delivering interactive sessions, guiding participants through hands-on labs, and providing real-world insights into virtualization and resource sharing on IBM Power platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver structured training on VIOS concepts, configuration, and management within IBM PowerVM and IBM i environments.

Conduct practical labs on creating and managing virtual adapters, shared Ethernet, virtual disks (vSCSI/NPIV), and performance optimization.

Explain PowerVM architecture, logical partitioning (LPAR), and shared processor/memory configurations.

Support participants with troubleshooting, best practices, and use cases from production environments.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, and VIOS administration.

Expertise in IBM i integration with VIOS (shared storage, networking, and resource allocation).

Prior training or technical mentoring experience preferred.

Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.

IBM Certifications related to PowerVM / VIOS are an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

IBM Certified System Administrator – Power Systems with IBM i

In-depth understanding of virtual I/O, shared Ethernet adapters (SEA), and NPIV

Familiarity with HMC and System Planning Tool (SPT)
