Job Description

The role focuses on embedding advanced data analytics, AI, and big data capabilities, driving actionable insights, operational efficiencies, and measurable outcomes across all regional business units, including UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, India, Hong Kong, the UK, and the USA.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy for GTB, positioning data as a core asset within Mashreq s digital banking transformation. Lead initiatives that drive data consistency, quality, and governance across corporate banking products.
Digital Transformation Programs:
Oversee the execution of strategic programs for corporate digital banking across regions covering solutions for Trade Finance, Liquidity Management, , Payment Systems, and Collections.
Analytics and Business Intelligence:
Deliver & Support end-to-end BI solutions and business operational reports that support decision-making at the executive level, with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and actionable insights across regions.
Data Engineering and Technology Leadership:
Oversee data architecture, big data engineering, and AI-driven models to unlock new insights and address complex business challenges.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with core banking, risk, compliance, and digital transformation teams to create and maintain a unified, agile, and scalable data model that supports GTB.
Stakeholder and Resource Management:
Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables while ensuring a seamless execution of business-critical data projects.

17+ Years of Total Experience in Data and Analytics, typically 12+ years in Data Strategy build and execution.
Expertise knowledge of industry standards, platforms, and tools to drive Data Strategy for the business unit.
10+ years related experience within Banking Technology, including leadership roles in fast paced environments.
10+ years leading teams working with advanced data governance, data management, data processing, and data analytics related exploration of data to create insights that drive business decisioning.
Excellent business sense, high degree of curiosity and strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
Extensive knowledge and success in designing & implementing
Data Warehousing, Data Mesh, Big Data, Descriptive and Predictive Analytics solutions leveraging Inmon and Kimball s methodology.
Strong expertise in designing & developing an end-to-end data product solution.
Implement Data Strategy leveraging
Big Data Technologies like Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Elastic, Hive, Sqoop and Data Tech Stack of Google Cloud and Azure Cloud Platform
Expertise knowledge of Big Data Tools and Technologies like Google Analytics, Google Big Query, Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Hadoop, ADLS, Elastic, Microservices etc.
Proficiency in data visualization tools like
Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Micro strategy
etc.
Ability to influence cross-functional and upper management to impact decision-making; willingness to have an opinion backed up by insight and analytics to arrive at the best decisions and outcomes.
Passion for innovation and willingness to take calculated risk to embrace new technologies and solutions.
Awareness of regulations governing bank s business process is a must.
Evaluating FinTech s and assessing best fit technologies for the new opportunities to deliver Contextual Banking, ESG Goals, Personalized Finance Management etc.
Ensure that information and technology solutions are effectively commissioned, deliver defined business benefits, and provide optimum ROI.
Lead teams across multiple geographies with the size of 30+ members and worked in matrix organization.
