Vice President Operations

As a VP Operations at StrainX, you will play a crucial role in owning and scaling the operations engine of the company. Your responsibilities will include taking the business from R&D to large-scale commercial manufacturing, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and global quality compliance. Working closely with the CEO and co-founders, you will be based in Bhopal and will be at the forefront of the action. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build and run world-class manufacturing systems, processes, and SOPs. - Lead end-to-end operations of StrainX's processing facility. - Drive capacity expansion, commissioning, and readiness of new facilities. - Oversee lab, pilot, and commercial-scale production build-outs. - Lead vendor development, equipment procurement, and quality systems. - Drive cost-efficiency and scalability in manufacturing. - Manage raw material sourcing, vendor relationships, and supply chain optimization. - Build cost-efficient procurement and logistics frameworks for scale-up. - Develop long-term supplier and partner networks. - Partner with the CEO, CTO, and CBO on operational strategy and execution roadmap. - Build and lead high-performing teams across manufacturing, quality, and operations. - Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and innovation. - Prepare StrainX's operations for global partnerships and rapid scaling. - Translate company-level goals into on-the-ground execution across production, HR, admin, and expansion. - Ensure the CEO's vision converts into measurable systems, processes, and outcomes. - Oversee hiring, onboarding, and culture-building with leadership. - Align cross-functional teams - R&D, operations, business. - Own strategic projects (facility builds, partnerships, global certifications). - Represent operations in leadership meetings, board reviews, and investor updates. **Qualifications Required:** - Strong academic background (engineering/biotech/management preferred). - 12-18 years in operations leadership (biotech, fermentation, food processing, pharma, API, chemicals, or similar). - Hands-on experience in scaling plants/facilities. - Strong knowledge of vendor networks, compliance, and quality standards. - A builder's mindset - resourceful, execution-driven, thrives in zero to one environments. - Comfortable wearing multiple hats - from production lines to HR systems. - Proven leadership - built and managed teams, owned budgets, delivered results. - Excited (not hesitant) about being based in Bhopal full-time and building something big on the ground.
