Job Summary:The Vehicle Certification & Tech Regulations role is responsible for ensuring the certification of vehicle models by ensuring compliance with Central Motor Vehicle Rules, Automotive Industry Standards, and Bureau of Indian Standards. This role is crucial for enabling timely product launches. Additionally, the role holder is nominated as an "appointed staff" in accordance with anti-trust guidelines and must have the ability to work with various regulatory and industry bodies, including trade associations such as SIAM.Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Certification:
- Lead assigned model certification projects, collaborate with certification authorities and various internal departments to meticulously plan and execute the model certification.
- Secure Type Approval Certificates for assigned product to enable timely product launches.
- Ensure continued compliance with new product feature enhancements, technical modifications, emerging regulations and Conformity of Production (COP) standards.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards such as Central Motor Vehicle Rules, Automotive Industry Standards, and Bureau of Indian Standards, etc.
- Study, analyze and interpret Indian and international vehicle regulations. Offer expertise and guidance on forthcoming vehicle regulations and impact analysis to internal teams, MBIL management and MBAG. Also ensure the implementation of these regulations.
- Industry and Regulatory Liaison:
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory and industry bodies, including trade associations such as SIAM, ARAI, BIS, etc.
- Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory meetings.
- Serve as the "appointed staff" and ensure all activities comply with anti-trust regulations and guidelines.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of certification processes and compliance activities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on certification status and regulatory compliance to management.
- Execute other certification projects (e.g. crash testing, battery testing, OBD, etc.) to support certification activities.
Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in vehicle certification, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing certification processes and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of vehicle certification and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in using certification and compliance management software and tools.

Internal:
- Certification and Technical Regulations Team: Collaborate to ensure alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
- Product Management & Sales Planning Team: Work with product management to align vehicles info and launch timeline requirements.
- Certification HQ / RD Team: Coordinate with the HQ team to ensure product compliance with regulations.
- Management Team: Prepare and present reports on certification status and regulatory compliance to management.
External:
- Regulatory Bodies (ARAI): Engage with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Central Motor Vehicle Rules, Automotive Industry Standards, and Bureau of Indian Standards.
- Industry Associations (SIAM): Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory meetings.
- Vendors and Service Providers: Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
QualifikationenEducation:Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certification is preferred.
