VDI requirement

Responsibilities:

• Manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) / VMware Horizon View servers across the globe.


• Installation and administration of VMware Horizon View components servers like Connection server, Security server, and Composer server.


• Configure and provision automated pools of desktops.


• Configure and manage Linked Clones.


• Configure user profiles with View Persona Management.


• Performance tuning of View infrastructure and View desktops.


• Troubleshoot issues related to virtual desktops and capture applications through VMware Thinapp application virtualization.


• Use PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and troubleshoot issues.


• Review system logs using the VMware Horizon Console to identify issues and warnings.


• Monitor system resource utilization using vCenter Server and identify potential bottlenecks.


• Analyze GPU utilization using the NVIDIA System Management Interface (nvidia-smi) tool and identify any issues related to GPU allocation.


• Capture and analyze network traffic using Wireshark and identify any issues related to network latency or packet loss.


• Test the performance of applications using the VMware Horizon Application Profiler and identify any issues related to application configuration or optimization.


• Perform software and driver updates using the VMware vSphere Update Manager and ensure compatibility between the various components of the VDI environment.


• Perform root cause analysis based on the findings from the above tasks and identify any common patterns or issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.


• At least 7 years of experience in managing and troubleshooting VMware VDI environments.


• Extensive knowledge of virtualization, networking, and storage technologies.


• Strong knowledge and experience in the diagnostics and troubleshooting of VMware ESX, ESXi, vSphere, Horizon View, Airwatch, and Mirage versions.


• Knowledge of PCoIP and Remote Desktop Protocol remote display protocols.


• Sound knowledge of PowerShell scripting.


• Experience in HA engineering for architecture on VMware DRS cluster environments.


• In-depth knowledge and experience in VMware Horizon View installation and administration of components servers like Connection server, Security server, and Composer server.


• Knowledge of network configuration and authentication options.


• Experience in troubleshooting issues related to virtual desktops.


• Experience in capturing applications through VMware Thinapp application virtualization.


• Experience in Application Layering


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• VMware VCP certification is a must.


• Microsoft MCSA certification is an advantage.
