Job Description

Processing weekly, biweekly, or semimonthly payrolls in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Importing hours from time and production records to administer paychecks.
Calculating gross pay, deductions, withholdings, and net pay using established procedures.
Distributing payroll reports and checks to field offices.
Auditing data exchanged between HRIS and payroll systems.
Supporting periodic and annual payroll audits (e.g., BLS, MWR, Workers Compensation).
Ensuring timely processing of new hire and termination paperwork.
Validating direct deposit setups, withholdings, and deductions.
Coordinating with HR to resolve complex payroll issues.
Assisting with special payrolls and reporting needs.
Preparing general ledger entries and communicating payroll data to relevant units.
Supporting payroll tax audits and managing areas such as unions, garnishments, taxes, and banking relationships.

About You:

A high school diploma (bachelor s degree preferred).
4-7 years of professional payroll experience, including extensive W2 reconciliation.
Proven experience handling payroll for 1,000+ employees.
Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and union payroll processing.
Proficiency in payroll systems; experience with cloud-based platforms like Oracle or Workday is a plus.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
A solid understanding of payroll regulations and audit processes.
Attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently under supervision.
